Every birthday, I get reflective. Okay, let’s be real — I get deeply reflective. I love milestones — birthdays, New Year’s, even the start of a fresh quarter. They’re like permission slips to pause, check in, and ask the big questions:
✨ What’s working?
✨ What’s not?
✨ What gets to come with me into this next chapter — and what’s staying behind?
And this year? It hits different. I’m turning 34.
If 33 taught me anything, it’s this: growth doesn’t always sparkle. Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s wildly uncomfortable. And often, it requires releasing the things we once clung to like lifelines.
But I wouldn’t trade it. 33 cracked me wide open — in business, in health, in motherhood, and in how I see myself. It showed me I can’t do it all (and honestly, I don’t even want to). It reminded me that when I feel good, my family feels good. And it gave me clarity on what’s actually mine to carry forward — both as a mom and as a business owner.
So, here it is — my birthday reflection. The obsessions, the shifts, and the sacred keepers as I step into 34.
Systems that simplify.
Motherhood taught me this fast: my time isn’t just mine anymore. Every system I build is about creating more space for the things that matter most — like picking my girls up from school, snuggling on the couch, or saying yes to spontaneous family lake days. Automations that save me hours, outsourcing tweaks so I don’t spiral in perfectionism, batching content so I can shut the laptop at 3PM and be “mom” again — I’m obsessed.
Because success doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from simplifying, focusing, and leaving room for life outside the business.
Feeling good in my body.
This is non-negotiable. My kids don’t need a “perfect mom” — they need an energized mom. And I’ve realized my energy, creativity, and patience as a mom and business owner all start with how I feel in my body. Movement, rest, nourishing food — these aren’t extras. They’re fuel for everything: bedtime stories, workouts that clear my head, chasing toddlers at the park, holding space for clients. When I feel good, everyone around me feels it too.
Helping women step into their next level.
Few things light me up like watching a client see themselves clearly in their brand. When they say, “This finally feels like ME,” I get chills. Because just like motherhood reshaped me, branding reshapes how women see themselves. It’s identity. It’s confidence. It’s alignment. I’m obsessed with helping women stop hiding behind DIY websites and instead show up boldly — not just for their clients, but for their families, too.
Doing it all myself.
I used to wear “I can do everything” like a crown. Then motherhood reminded me — I literally can’t do it all, and that’s okay. Just because I can doesn’t mean I should. At 34, it’s all about delegation and collaboration. The less I cling to, the more time I get back for bedtime routines, hot yoga, or trips with my husband.
Second-guessing my vision.
This year, I’m ditching the spiral of “Should I? What if it flops?” and moving faster. Clarity comes through action. My girls are watching me, and I want them to see a mom who trusts herself.
How I offer support.
Josey Koke Design was my first business baby, and I’ll always be grateful for it. But motherhood showed me that pretty design alone isn’t enough — just like parenting isn’t about looking picture-perfect. People need depth, alignment, and strategy. That’s why I birthed Mood Marketing Haus: to merge design with coaching, strategy, and the mindset shifts that fuel real growth. The shift isn’t just for my clients — it’s for me, too, so my business works with my life as a mom, not against it.
My voice.
Fun. Bold. A little edgy. Always real. That’s my voice, and it’s the compass my kids will hear loud and clear as they watch me build this business.
Community over competition.
As a mom and entrepreneur who works from home, my community is everything. Playdates, coffee rants, fellow women building big things. The women I get to work with inspire me daily — and they remind me we’re stronger together. Clients aren’t just “transactions” — they’re collaborators, friends, role models. That’s a value I’ll carry forever.
Big dreams.
I’ll never stop dreaming bigger — for my business and for my family. Whether it’s scaling Mood Marketing, writing more, creating offers that shift the way women build, or teaching my kids to dream without limits, the point isn’t the end goal. The point is growth, evolution, and becoming more of who I’m meant to be — in every role I hold.
Some of you have been with me since as early as the Josey Koke Fitness days — when I was writing workouts, running motivational 8-week challenges, and sharing the fun, sweaty stuff that taught me discipline and consistency. That season built the foundation for Josey Koke Design and, eventually, the evolution into Mood Marketing Haus.
But here’s the truth: the foundation isn’t just business. It’s life’s curveballs, and betting on myself again and again — even when things felt impossibly hard. It’s learning when to say yes to the opportunities that light me up, and when to say no so I can protect my energy.
At 34, I’m carrying this into every area of my life:
Because at the end of the day, the things I want more of are simple: lake days, runs that clear my head, hot yoga flows, laughing with friends, helping my amazing clients live out THEIR dreams, living in sweatpants, teaching my kids new things, and giving them the best possible mom I can be.
Mood Marketing Haus is the business expression of all of this — creativity, strategy, soul. But the life behind it? That’s the real win.
